I've been doing a lot of work recently with J2Commerce and also have an extensive amount of experience with J2Store. I believe I'll be able to provide you relevant feedback on some items.
With regard to this variants issue… any idea when this might be fixed? The site I included above could use this feature ASAP as they're selling apparel with different sizes.
Also, I've used options with J2Store for a long time now and even using them now with J2Commerce. However, I've never used the image feature associated with options. That said, where and how are these images used/displayed? The client sent me a Shopify link requesting that the product show the associated image based on the selection the user makes (i.e. they select BLACK and they see the black verison of the product, they select CHROME and they see the chrome version of the product). Is this currently possible?
On a seperate note… I really struggled a few days ago with the following. I was working on a new site and so I always start with an exsiting Joomla site that I've previously built. I needed to install J2Commerce as they were going to be using this function. Since the Joomla starting files were 5.x I wanted to update to 6 first before installing J2Commerce. Everytime I tried it this way and then installed J2Commerce, I ran into a wall when trying to add some of the plugins and apps (i.e. subscriptions, Stripe). I'd get an error message and the plugin wasn't installed.
I did multiple tests and literally spent hours trying and retrying by restoring the site from backup. I thought maybe it was because the starting Joomla files had, at one point or another, had J2Store installed. But I literally deleted anything from the database and did a thorough check to confirm that this wasn't the case. No matter how I approached it thouhg. I still had the same issue.
Ultimately, I ended up keeping the site at Joomla 5.4. When I did this and then installed J2Commerce, everything worked fine – no problems installing subscriptions or Stripe. I even ran test orders.
The reason this didn't make sense is because my other site above is a Joomla 6 site and it's using J2Commerce. I can swear to the fact both sites started with the same exact Joomla starting files. That said, I'm not sure if the issues I ran into were related to J2Commerce, conflicting plugins, or something else.
At some point, I'll simply try and update the site to Joomla 6 since J2 is now working correctly on Joomal 5.4. Hopefully it continues to work after the upgrade.
