Set Up Your Store

Take your first order the same afternoon.

Install the package, load the sample store, and swap in your own products. Switch on PayPal and a shipping rate, and you’re ready to sell.

A laptop showing a store admin filled with sample products, a first-order notification popping from the screen, and a packed box ready to ship.

Five-Step Setup

Get to your first paid order in five steps.

Install the package, load the sample store, add your products, switch on payment and shipping, then place a real order from your own storefront.

  1. Install It the Way You Install Anything Else

One package, through Joomla’s own extension installer. Upload it, or paste the URL, or run it from the console if that is how you work. Joomla’s updater keeps the whole set current from then on. Get the package.

  2. Load the Sample Store, Before You Touch Anything

Start here, because it makes every later step easier. It fills your store with real products: 22 products across every product type, 20 customers and 50 orders already placed, a tax profile, zones and a shipping rate. Every screen has something in it, so you can see what a finished record looks like. Add something to the cart and watch it behave. Ready to go live? One click removes everything the sample data added, cleanly.

  3. Swap in Your Own Products, One at a Time

Open a sample product, read how it is put together, then build yours beside it and copy the shape. Start with a simple one. Then do a variable one, because the size-and-color grid is the part worth learning properly. Delete the sample products as you replace them. How product types and variants work.

  4. Switch on PayPal and One Shipping Rate

Both are in the package. Put your PayPal details in, leave it in test mode, set one standard rate for the region you actually ship to. That is a checkout that can take money. Cash on delivery, money order and bank transfer are sitting right there too. See how the checkout works.

  5. Buy Something from Yourself

Go to your own storefront as a shopper and put an order through. Then read it in the admin: the line items, the tax, the shipping choice, the status. Change the status and watch the email go out. That is the same order flow every customer will use. What the order screen gives you.

Health Checks Review Your Setup as You Go

The built-in checks review your setup as you go and name the exact setting that needs attention: a missing rate, an unset default, something your server doesn’t have. You sort it out in the admin long before a shopper reaches the payment step.

  • Run them before you go live, and again after any bigger change
  • Each finding names a setting, so the fix is a screen you can go to
  • They live in the same admin as everything else, on the dashboard
