Hi Olivier,

After the update to version 4.2.0, the following issues have arisen:

1. During checkout, the delivery charges are displayed immediately on the form, rather than – as before – only after selecting the zone / region. This means it is no longer possible to set delivery charges based on the zone / region.

2. When a registered user logs in, the following error message appears: ‘The most recent request was denied because it had an invalid security token. Please refresh the page and try again.’×

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Peter

Hi Peter,

when nothing is selected for shipping, the shipping still needs to show a value, therefore the store default geozone is used for that purpose. When a zone is selected, the shipping options should update to the customer's geozone. If it does not, it is an issue indeed.

Can you edit the credentials for the site so we can check what is going on with the token issue? Thank you!

Olivier.

Hi Olivier,

1. Why do the delivery charges have to be displayed before the relevant details have been entered? That wasn’t the case before. As the majority of our customers are not from Germany, details of delivery charges for the standard geozone – which then have to be corrected once the delivery address has been entered – simply cause confusion.

2. However, it is also confusing for German customers when, at this stage of the order, the estimated delivery costs including VAT are already displayed, whilst the order items are shown without VAT.

Peter

Hello Peter,

the issues with token information comes from the fact that you had overrides that were not updated.

When you go to the template's override section, there lies a tab called 'Updated Files'.

All files needing updates are at least being verrifed are in this view.

  • default_confirm.php
  • ...
  • default_login_form.php
  • shipping_yes.php

I updated those files for you. I even updated the j2store ones. All files are marked as 'checked'. You will need to copy those changes to your live site.

As far as shipping is concerned:

it was a feature created after quite a large number of users requested shipping to be visible from the start.

However, I understand this is a feature you may not want.

Therefore, we have added the option 'Show shipping before an address is entered' in the settings, so one can show shipping or not at will. Shipping won't show until the customer enters his/her address.

I have installed the update on your test site, you will need to grab the update for the live site through the console or your account.

Hi Olivier,

Thank you very much for the updates!

The ‘Show shipping before an address is entered’ option is brilliant.

Unfortunately, there are two further issues:

1. When a logged-in customer changes their delivery or billing address, the delivery charges and VAT no longer update automatically; the values only change once the page is reloaded.

2. When an existing customer logs in, ‘...com/fr/component/easycheckout/?view=checkout’ opens instead of ‘...com/fr/checkout-fr?view=checkout’.

Hi Peter,

good catch for those issues.

I fixed them and installed the updated version on your site to make sure it is working properly.

Can you make sure that #1 is fixed properly for you?

#2 seems good now.

Hi OLivier,

#1 works fine now, but #2 is still the same.

Olivier

Hi Peter,

#2 works on my side. Make sure you are not running into cache pages.

Just checkouted out in French in https://www.test.recbag.com/fr/checkout-fr?view=checkout.

Please provide steps to get the point it does not work for you. Thank you!

Hi Olivier,

That's another issue! If you click the above link now, you will see quite a weird page. This always happens when you pause the payment process for a while (more than 15 minutes).

Otherwise, even after clearing the cache, the problem remains that when a registered visitor logs in from the page .../checkout?view=checkout, they are redirected  to the page .../component/easycheckout/?view=checkout (see screenshot 22; the shopping basket is missing in the top right-hand corner). Important: This does not happen when logging in from the page .../en/my-account.

But if you then click the back arrow in the top left-hand corner, the page .../checkout?view=checkout correctly opens (see screenshot 25; the shopping basket is visible in the top right-hand corner).

I hope I have managed to explain the problem clearly enough.

Hi Peter,

thanks for the explanations, it helped me narrow down the issue.

The login form is submitted through Ajax. However, the router was missing the Itemid parameter in that case. I fixed it and installed it on your site. Now the URL remains correct.

I have installed the update on your site.

As far as weird things happening after 15mn, this is no mystery. Your site's session is set to log off anyone after 15 minutes (Joomla's Global Configuration session lifetime). So the user is logged off after 15mn and the cart is gone.

I let the session run out and it took me back to a 'there is no product in your cart' page, which looks ok to me. Not sure what you meant about 'weird' page.

Hi Olivier,

thanks a lot, it seems to work fine now!

How do we get the changes onto the live site now?

Peter

Olivier

Ok Peter,

since it is working properly, I will create a release today, which you can use for the live site.

Thank you!

Olivier.
