How to I set the default payment method and shipping method and order their display in checkout? I know my customers will typically select specific choices so I and to make it easier for them.

The payment methods can be reordered in the checkout based on their plugin ordering. Default can be set in the Configuration / Options of J2Commerce.
Shipping methods are a little trickier as they are ordered by price (lowest to highest) - the way most shoppers are accustomed to viewing the shipping rates.

THANKS! Payment method config. works.
One comment on shipping order, while lowest to highest make sense, one opton I have is shop pick up (which is $0) and thus shows up as default. While it is an option, it will not be selected very often, thus the need to control the order.

If you can update the site credentials fields on the ticket (not visible to anybody else but you and me) I can take a look at your setup to see what the best option would be and whether a default shipping option would make sense in a future release...

Thanks for the info, if sort by lowest price is set to no in the component settings - the ordering should default to the plugin's ordering same as payment plugins do. This is not what is currently happening so I created an issue for this and will have this updated in the next release - should be tomorrow or so...

This feature has been added to the upcoming release - Essentially if the Auto Select Shipping is set to yes - nothing changes from the current operations - the shipping results will display in order from lowest price to highest. If it is set to No - then it will use the plugin's ordering (while keeping the pricing ordered from lowest to highest within each shipping method) so you would select No - and then then make sure the shipping method you want to display as the default option is ordered as the first one and you should be good to go.
