Hello,

I am trying to install J2Commerce on a friend's site but I don't manage to configure my 1st product :

I created 2 options : size and color, but nothing happens when I try to click on "add an option" (in French, "ajouter une option". Whatever the type of product I choose, it doesn't work...

I read the online documentation, but it doesn't work for me like in the writings...

What do I do wrong ?

Thanks

Config : J2Commerce 6 on Joomla 6, French on both front and back sides.

Olivier

Hello Alain,

I tried logging into the site but it does not let me. Can you check that out?
It looks like you should create a variable product or a flexible variable product.

Once you added an option, don't forget to save first before you can manage the variants.

OK, I have set the new parameters. I hope it will be OK, this time.

Thanks.

Ok Alain, thanks for the credentials, I can see what happens.

It's an issue with a French message that has a ' (quote) inside it, it is not escaped in the code.

We will have an update over the weekend, I'll make sure this is fixed.

In the meantime, a workaround is to use the English language for setting your product... not ideal, but it would let you go forward.

Hello,

Thanks for your answer.

In fact, I am not really surprised by what you say : I had considered the French language could be the problem.

Thanks for the update when it is ready.

I will work in English until then :-)

You are welcome Alain,

I have decided to keep testing J2Commerce in French... Already noticed some inaccuracies with the translations... So there will be some corrections to make there.

Hello,

OK, thanks.

I have other issues, I don't know if there is a link withe the French language :

  • in the basket module, there is no link nore button to the checkout.
  • when I complete an order, I don't receive any notification by mail : nothing on the customer email, nothing on the admin/vendor email.

I don't know if it is because of the French translation, but if you can help me to fix that, thanks lots of times !

And another question : I would like to remove the price filter, which has no use for me, but I can't find any way to do it. Is it normal ?

Thanks again.

Alain

Hello Alain,

the basket module has links, you have to set them up in the module:

  • 'checkout menu item': to tell which page you are using for checkout
  • 'show checkout button': to actually show the button

The are in different sections, that may be why it was missed.

I am going to check your configuration for emails.

For the price filter, you have the option to hide it in the menu item parameters (Category tab -> Filters section).

When I tried a test email of the order confirmation template from your configuration, it did not go through.

The error was :

Request failed: NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource.

Then I tried again, and that time it worked. It said the email was sent, but I actually never received anything.

I sent a test email from your Joomla configuration. Did you receive it? If not, this is a general Joomla issue.

Hello,

Thanks for your replies.

I finally fixed the problem of button on the basket. Thanks for your help.

You're right, the problem of emails is probably external to J2Commerce. I think it is due to a hosting restriction. I try to fix that.
