Hello Graeme,
if you turn Joomla debug on from the Global Configuration, you should see what the error is. I cannot access your site because of the firewal. Please report the error you see.

I went to the reports (Reporting tab) and created 2 sales reports without any issue.
Are you refereing to something else? Ifso, can you clarify? Thanks!
