Hello Pete,
we are planning on releasing a version of the Royal Mail shipping extension for J2Commerce v6 soon.
The version of Royal Mail for J2Commerce 4 is meant to be working all the way to Joomla 6.

Does the latest version of the royal mail plug-in still use the F0F libraries?

Royal Mail works with J2Commerce v4, therefore uses F0F since it is based on core functionality of J2Commerce v4, no matter the Joomla version (4, 5 or 6).
The version for J2Commerce v6 for Joomla 6 will not use F0F.J2Commerce v6 does not use F0F.

is it possible to revert to using J2commerce 4 in the meantime? I note that it still in place on our system...

If you did not uninstall J2Commerce v4, you can re-enable it and disable J2Commerce v6. You will be able to migrate the new data from v4 to v6 once you are ready to use v6.

Is there a timeline for the Royal Mail v6 plugin? reverting to J2v4 and back is a big task but our shop (currently closed) can't function without that plugin
