The category selector widget at the top of the shop page is very good ...
Except - when you have selected a category - it only shows the selected category (as a btn-primary) and does not continue to show the other categories (as selectable btn-outline-primary as before). This makes mving between categories cumbersome.
Is there a way to conntinue. to show all of the categories ?

Paul,
the list of buttons in the category list view represent the main category and the children of that category.
So that a parent category 'Shop' with 2 children 'Electronics' and 'Toys' will show: "Shop' (selected), 'Electronics' and 'Toys'.
When selecting 'Toys', if 'Toys' has children, its children will show (for instance ('Wood Toys' and 'Plastic Toys').
So if we have 'Toys', 'Wood Toys' and 'Plastic Toys', I am not sure how we would put 'Electronics' in the mix.
To make it working, we probably would need to have:
'Electornics', 'Toys' on one line
'Wood Toys', 'Plastic Toys' on another line.
Shop
|_ Electronics - Toys
Toys - Electronics
|_ Wood Toys - Plastic Toys
or
Electronics - Toys
|_ Wood Toys - Plastic Toys
I don't know how else that could be represented to make sense to the end user.

I understand.
The issue is that if you are viewing the products in category 'Books" it is not obvious to users how to get to category "Equipment"
What would make it better would be if there was a button to go back up a level - sort of a breadcrumbs for product categories
