hello, when trying to update j2commerce by installing the latest version, I get this error. Installation blocked: the following FOF library directories were found alongside the FOF library used by J2Store: fof30, fof40. Multiple FOF installations in the same Joomla instance cause class-loading conflicts. Please uninstall X those libraries before installing J2Commerce. Check the libraries. If no library is present, you may have to delete the folder(s) manually. What do you recommend?

Olivier

Hello Florian,

I would recommend you follow the instructions. Go to the link provided (the link takes you to the list of libraries on your site), check that you have fof30 and fof40 in the list of the libraries. Uninstall them. If the warning remains when installing J2Commerce, that means those libraries are present on the server and have not been removed properly. You should end up with only ONE library, the one packaged with J2Store/J2Commerce. The one to keep is /f0f.

It is revAC17961 from 2024-04-12.

I would advise you make a backup before you start the cleanup.

Please contact us if you have any doubt or question, we would be happy to help.

Olivier.

I have file_fof40 and FOF installed. the first one has this description: "Framework-on-Framework (FOF) 4.x - The rapid application development framework for Joomla!. Warning: : This is NOT a duplicate of the FOF library already installed with Joomla! 3. It is a different version used by other extensions on your site. Do NOT uninstall either FOF package. If you do you will break your site."

So it does not sound like I should uninstall this!

where should I look for remaing files on the server?

Olivier

Hi Florian,

all fof libraries can be found under /libraries.

Just keep /f0f.

In the installed extensions I have file_fof40 4.1.4 with a date from 2022 and fof 2.4.3 from 2015.
In the libraries folder i have f0f, fof30 and fof40

should I deinstall either one of the installed plugins and/or delete the folders in /libraries?

Olivier

Hi Florian,

like the initial message hinted, you need to remove fof30 and fof40 from /libraries.

You can first try removing fof40 from the admin console, then go to the server and delete fof30 and fof40.
