Dear J2Store Support Team,

we previously used J2Store on Joomla 5 and updated to Joomla 6 some time ago. As required, all J2Store‑related plugins were disabled during the update process.

However, when I try to activate the plugin “Content - J2Store”, I immediately receive the following error message on Site:

“Sorry, there was a problem we could not recover from.
The server returned a ‘500 - Whoops, looks like something went wrong.’”

The Joomla plugin “Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6” is enabled.

When attempting to install the latest J2Store version, the installation always fails with an “Internal Server Error”.

To troubleshoot the issue, I have also uninstalled all J2Store components completely and tried a clean new installation. Unfortunately, the installation fails every time with the“Internal Server Error.”

Have you encountered this issue before, and could you assist me in resolving it?

Kind regards,
Tim

Olivier

Hi Tim,

first, I would like to mention that any version of J2Store 4.0.x is NOT usable under Joomla 6. It is not supported because of several issues.

What is the 'latest' version you are installing? If it is 4.1, you should be good to go.

The “Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6” enabled alone is not enough. You have to make sure all parameters are set to enabled as well. Is that the case?

Olivier.

Hi Olivier,

I previously had version 4.0 installed and I am now trying to install 4.1. However, I still receive the “Internal Server Error” during the installation.

And yes, all three parameters under Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6 are set to Enabled.

If others are not experiencing this issue, then it seems the problem is not caused by the plugin itself.

Olivier

Hi Tim,

there are only 2 parameters in the compatibility plugin for Joomla 6. There were 3 in Joomla 5.

Can you add credentials to your site by editing this ticket so I can take a look at the settings? Thank you!

Olivier.
