if you use show the product, indeed, the intro text of the article is sued for the product description.

If you show the article instead, you should see it as a 'normal' Joomla article.

If you don't, the options for the article or the menu item probably need to be adjusted.

Or did you mean: I don't see the product in article view? 

In that case, you need to use the shortcode to see the product in the article view.

Note that there are settings in the j2store content plugin worth taking a look :-)
