#556 Updated thumbnails not showing in order email

Hope you’re all doing well.

I’ve run into a small issue with the order email.
The four product thumbnails that used to display correctly have been replaced with new versions in the J2Commerce backend — but the new ones don’t appear in the order email sent to the customer and Villavent.

I haven’t changed anything in the configuration or in the orderitems.php override.
The new icons are in the same format (GIF) as before, and I also tested PNG and JPG, but the result is the same — the new thumbnails simply don’t show up in the email.

They display fine on the product pages, so the files themselves are working.
Do you have any idea what could cause this?

Hello Ulrich,

doing great, thank you, hope you are as well!

we have identfied this issue and will provide a fix in the next release.

Joomla 4 adds parameters to the image fields and this is what prevents the images from showing properly. It was fixed in other areas, but for some reason, this was not identified until now.

Hi Olivier,

Fantastic, thank you for the quick reply — that makes perfect sense.
It also explains why some thumbnails still show correctly — they were created before Joomla 4, while the ones edited afterwards no longer display due to the new image parameters.

Great to know it’s already fixed for the next release!
