Hi J2Commerce Support,

I’ve updated J2Store to **v4.0.17 PRO**, and something seems to go wrong on the product page with the **image tab/thumbnail slider**.

When I select the **quantity (number of persons)**, the main product image disappears, and the last thumbnail is stripped out, leaving only the **alt text** displayed.

Does J2Commerce have any idea what might be going wrong?
Here’s a video showing the issue: https://williamsrejser.dk/wrj5/J2S-2025-08-18.mov

Best regards,
Ulric

Hello Ulric,

thank you for the video!

We have not experienced this issue, I am going to investigate. The v4.0.17 update focused on backen changes, therefore I am not sure this is linked to the version yet.

Ulric,

could you please edit the ticket and add credentials to it so I can see your configuration? Thank you! (it won't be visible to others)

I have a fix and I want to also install it on your site to ensure it handles your problem properly.

The problem comes from the fact that images with relative paths behave differently in 4.0.17 to allow images to come from a CDN, for instance.

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for your replys – see the backend credentials. Please note, this is still a test site for the upcoming Williams Rejser in Joomla 5 with J2Commerce/J2S.

We will probably need to migrate Joomla 3 once again due to many changes on the live site since, but of course, we don’t want to lose your fixes. How should we handle this situation?

All the best,
Ulric

Olivier

No problem Ulric.

If anything gets fixed with my update, you will just have a version to install. So instead of 4.0.17 you will update to 4.0.17.1 (the version I will test now) or 4.0.18 (if it comes out before your migration).

If 4.0.18 is not out by the time you migrate your site again, stay on 4.0.16 or ask me for the patch release 4.0.17.1.

I have installed and tested the patch release. It seems like it fixed the issue.

Can you confirm?

Thanks Olivier,

Yes, I can confirm everything is back to normal again – we are right on the verge of the new migration, which we will carry out tomorrow, Wednesday, and Thursday. 😉

Just a thought: one of Joomla’s strengths has always been the use of relative paths, since it makes moving sites between environments much easier. Joomla supports both relative and absolute paths — how do you see this in relation to the newJ2Commerce?

All the best,
Ulric

Olivier

We are moving J2Commerce to become a fully Joomla compatible platform, removing non-Joomla API code bit by bit, starting with the f0f library.

As such, the handling of images will stay in line with Joomla.
