Hi Support,

I'm trying to upgrade an old J2Store 3.3.20 running on Joomla 3, up to the latest version on Joomla 4.

I thought I was just about finished on our development site, up to the point of testing checkout, only to discover that no Australian states are displaying under the "Zone/Region" option at checkout.

I've checked the Geozone and Zone's setup between the two sites and they seem to be identical so I'm unsure what's causing the problem.

I've attached a couple of screenshots showing the checkout page in J4 version J3, together with a screenshot of the Geozone setup page for Australia, which shows all of the states.

Hoping you have some suggestions?

Thanks

Nathan

HI there,

I've managed to fix this by creating a menu item for the Checkout page, otherwise it was trying to loading the states via an incorrect URL of:

/component/j2store/index.php?option=com_j2store&view=carts&task=getCountry&country_id=13

which oddly didn't happen on the J3 version.

Anyways, we can probably call this issue resolved though it would be good for it to be included in the documentation that you need to set up a checkout menu item.

Thanks

Nathan

Thanks Nathan,

I was checking the issue and saw it resolved.

In the upcoming 4.1 update, we have added a module that reminds users to create the key menu items necessary for te shop to work properly.

Olivier.

Nathan,

Even though this ticket is closed, I'm adding this extra note on here so if anybody else reads this I can help them as well.

The reason the menu item is more important now than it was in Joomla 3. It's because the routing was vastly improved in Joomla 4/5 which is the reason why certain third-party extensions that helped give you more user friendly URLs are no longer needed because Joomla core handles that now. So in the past, if you didn't have a menu item for checkout (even though you should have) probably were able to get away with it, but with the improvements to routing in Joomla four and five and beyond, that also means that any scripts that were running may not work the same as they did in Joomla. 3 sans menu item.
