Hi

Moneris no longer supports The plugin integrates the eSELECT Plus Hosted Paypage method of Moneris Payment gateway with J2Commerce.
But uses the Moneris Checkout gateway instead.

Please update for canadian customers

Thank's

Reading through the documentation you sent over (thank you by the way) and it looks like I will need access to an account in order to get the profile id as well as test the transactions. If you could create a temprary dev account for that account, I'd be happy to update the plugin.

You can email the credentials to support@j2commerce.com to ensure we are the only ones that see it.

Hi, I had a Moneris Checkout plug-in developed in the past for my site that worked with J2 store, on joomla 3. I tried to install it on my new site under construction in Joomla 5 with the latest version of J2commerce. To my surprise, it installed and worked. However, I noticed a strange behavior of the plugin, which deactivated itself after each transaction. If you'd like, instead of starting from scratch, you could check what's causing this behavior and make sure the plugin is fully up to date with joomla 5 and the latest version of J2commerce. I've sent you the plugin as a private message. The site credentials are available in the section reserved for this purpose. You are free to use the plugin and make it available to the community according to your preferences. Thank's

Olivier

Hello Chaka,

is the plugin Adam sent you working for you?

Hi Olivier,

I receive the plugin from Adam  on 10 Jul 2025 and i test it an give him a feeback.

This is what a notice a share with him :

Thank you for the follow-up and the improvements made to the plugin. I installed the new version of the plugin and tested it. Here's what it shows.

Resolved: After a transaction, the plugin no longer deactivates itself as before. So this problem is solved.

Problems: However, I've noticed the following:

Even if the transaction is approved, the order status remains UNPAID, in the order section.

Also, after another order, the latter deletes the previous order, in the back end (sales---> Orders), so there's no follow-up possible. Previous invoices are overwritten and always return to their initial value. UPDATE ( THIS SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN RESOLVED)

The Order History doesn't reflect what really happened. Also, after the transaction, the shopping cart is not emptied, even though I have configured this option in the back-end. You can check the settings yourself.

Also, the customer doesn't receive any notification, nor does the store administrator. These features were fine before.  UPDATE (RECENTLY, I NOTICED THAT THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE PURCHASE IS MADE IN GUEST MODE)

Also, after confirming the transaction, I'm not redirected to the home page, even though I specified this in the configuration. I get a 404 error.

HERE'S WHAT I'VE OBSERVED SO FAR. I SENT THE CONNECTION INFORMATION TO ADAM. I'LL ALSO SEND THEM TO YOU PRIVATELY.

THANK's

Olivier

Thank you Chaka for the update, it is good we have the whole ticket follow-up on here so that anyone from our team can help.

I will check the remaining issues.

Hello dear j2commerce team member, I just wanted to know if there is an update regarding the plugin.

Thank you.

Olivier

Hello Chaka,

I am still looking into it. The plugin has been updated as you have seen but the payment part, which has been left untouched, still is having issues. I am still actively working on finding a solution! Thank you for your patience.

Hello Olivier

Thank you very much for your feedback and your continued efforts on this issue.

For my part, I have another version of the plugin, developed previously, which works correctly with another e-commerce component (easystore) under Joomla. If this can be useful to you in identifying the source of the problem or to help you with your adjustments, I send you this plugin.

Thank you again for your involvement and see you soon.

Best regards,

Chaka

Olivier

Yes, Chaka, it may be useful. Can you send it to olivier@j2commerce.com? Thanks!

Hello Chaka,

I gave this another shot and found the issue.

I have updated the plugin on your site and tried it out with success.

Although it takes a bit of time to process, the orders succeed.

Let me know that it does actually work for you.

Thank you!

Hello Olivier,

Thank you for following up and for your work.

I ran a test on my end after the recent plugin update in the two situations below.

As a registered customer and as a guest customer.

As a registered customer, once the order has been processed and approved by Moneris, the status CONFIRMED now appears in the store's back-end administration. A confirmation email regarding the success of the transaction is also sent to the administrator. No other email is sent with the order details.

As a guest customer, once the order has been processed and approved by Moneris, the status CONFIRMED now also appears in the back-end of the store administration. HOWEVER, no email confirming the success of the order is sent to the store administrator or to the guest customer's email address. No other email is sent with the order details.

At this point, and this is a major point, I can confirm that the status of a successfully processed order is now indicated as CONFIRMED.

I hope you will find the time to resolve the issue with sending emails in guest mode, and I would like to thank you again for this essential update. We're almost there !

I suggest you test a purchase in guest mode on your end using your email address to better assess the situation.

Thank you !

Chaka !

Olivier

Ok, from what I can see in the orders, guest user or not, is that there is history information about the emails being sent and this only occurs after the send() function succeeded.

The sending of emails is not something that happens in the payment plugin. It is handled by core J2Commerce at the order level.

I am going to do some testing on another site and see if I get the same outcome. But so far, it seems to be a configuration issue. Can you check if emails are not held (or considered spam) in the account you have set up for sending emails? Maybe using SMTP would be more secure and therefore allow guests emails to go through (just trying to think outside of the box).

I tested on another site with your Moneris information, buying as a guest. The emails went through fine.

Therefore it seems to be a mailing configuration issue on your site.

Please try using SMTP and see if that makes a difference.

Hello Olivier,

I have configured the SMTP settings.

After confirming that the SMTP settings are correct, I ran the test again in both situations: as a registered customer and as a guest customer.

Here are the results.

As a registered customer, the customer receives confirmation that the transaction was successful but does not receive the confirmation email from the store with the order details. However, the administrator does receive this email (Hello xxxxx, your order has been placed with xxxx), which was not the case before. In the back-end, it is stated that this email is also sent to the customer.

As a guest customer, the customer still does not receive confirmation of the successful transaction or the confirmation email from the store with the order details. However, the administrator receives this email (Hello xxxxx, your order has been placed with xxxx), which was not the case before. In the back-end, it is mentioned that this email is also sent to the customer.

I conclude that the problem must certainly be something other than the Moneris payment plugin. Before closing this request and declaring the plugin 100% functional, I will contact my host (Godaddy) to see if there are any restrictions on their side.

Also, I would be very grateful if you could take a look at the store settings and see if there is anything wrong with the email templates, for example. I don't understand why the same message intended for both the store administrator and the customer is only received by the store administrator.

Also, for the final update of the plugin, please consider changing its name to MONERIS CHECKOUT. This corresponds to the current reality.

I will get back to you after contacting Godaddy.

Thank You

Olivier

Hello,

I have changed the plugin name to 'Moneris Checkout' as suggested (not on your site).

We will be waiting for your final feedback.

Thank you!

Hello Olivier,

I've contacted godaddy support, and they've confirmed that the problem is known to them. They are working on the servers and it will take a few days according to what I've been told.

I think the plugin is ready for distribution.

Could you please send me a copy of the updated file?

I'll get back to you if I have any further comments. Thank you for your cooperation and expertise. This request can be marked as resolved.

Thank you

Olivier

Thank you for the feeback!

I will send you the last version through email.
