I'd like to be able to use the J2 search plugin, but it only returns content from a single menu item, which is a bit restrictive.

Is there a plan to modify it so It will search all categories/menu items?

KInd of, not really.

The Joomla search results format with different styles than those rendered via J2Commerce. So, it's not really desirable to use it. I think the results from the Joomla search don't render the J2Commerse css/js which is the issue.

So, it would be much nicer to use the J2Commerse version which does return properly formatted product items. But, it is limited to a single category, which is no good as we have many. I think all it needs is the option to include child categories/menu items and a parent menu item that is a separator type to encompass all items in the menu. To me this makes sense.
