Hi,

I've found an issue with the new quick start feature :(

The issue is mostly connected to (or at least it seems that way) to the creation of the 2 menus:
Checkout menu and order conformation menu.

They seem to be linked in some way. We were having problems with the order process, (I have it set up using the cash on delivery plugiin ) with the 2 menus published the sale will process through but at the final stage a 404 error is displayed instead of the thank you page.

Although these menus were published I have not assigned them a module position, so essentially acting like a hidden menu.

The strangest thing though is that I unpublished the conformation menu, the checkout menu unpublished itself. Even stranger was that neither would then republish. I did not try to delete and remake the menus.

The system seems to work fine without them.

Your login details to my site are still valid so your welcome to take a look and make a test purchase, just mark it as a test purchase.

Regards, Dave

Dave,

I was unable to publish/unpublish either menu which tells me there is something bigger going on. I also noticed there haven't been any new sales since the 25th which is odd considering the daily order history. You need the checkout menu otherwise it will default to the homepage for checkout and could cause other related issues.  I checked the activity logs to see what changed on the 26th and it looks like early that morning, JCH optimize was installed and ever since then, sales have stopped. I am not saying that you need to uninstall that as I use it on many J2 sites however, you have to adjust for each site otherwise it could cause some javascript issues which would prevent somebody from completing the checkout.

Update:

I dug a little deeper and the country/province/region fields are not working (most likely due to JCH - so you will need to make sure the checkout is excluded from JCH in order to allow customers to complete the checkout.

I know this didn't resolve the original issue, but any issue the stops customers from spending money should take precedence...  ;)

Hi Adam,

Sorry, I've only just seen this. It dropped into my spam folder! I'll take a look tomorrow regarding JCH and get back to you.

Let me know how it goes, I am sure there are others who use JCH that would also like to make sure they aren't affected either.  JCH is very powerful, but does need some adjustments depending on the project.

Hi Adam,

I'm back on this.

JCH is disabled.

The checkout menu seems to be created fine.

But, when I try to create an order conformation menu I get this error:
An error has occurred.
1062 Duplicate entry '0-1-order-confirmation-*' for key 'idx_client_id_parent_id_alias_language'

There is also another wierd behaviour.

When I add the checkout menu and set as published.

Then, open a normal menu item of type, product list veiw, if I save that menu item its status is changed to trash. If delete the checkout menu, and set the product list view item to published, and save it. it remains published.

Regards, Dave.
