get_magic_quotes_gpc() is a php setting and won't be resolved through the backward compatibility Joomla plugin. 

I am looking through our code and can't see a call to that function.

I have also been looking through your website but other than the extension's 'label' in the menu, there is no plugin or no module installed.

So the problem is just that the extension did not install. I am looking into why that is.

I have identified the issue.

It turns out this is because of conflicting old f0f libraries installed on your site.

Akeeba products needed those f0f libraries in the past but is no longer using/maintaining those libraries. 

Somewhere in a past update from Akeeba, you may have missed a step where you needed to cleanup the several remaining f0f libraries.

An old f0f library went in the way of the J2Commerce install (until we remove f0f from J2Commerce, the library must run on its latest version).

I have run file_magiceraser from Akeeba on your site to cleanup f0f.

Then I installed J2Commerce and you can now start setting your shop :-)
