Hello,
I'm using your Stripe component on my online store (yoyo.cy) and I've found a serious issue that I need your help with.
Problem:
When a customer's payment is declined or fails on Stripe, the store still creates an order with the status "New", and the order shows Stripe as the payment method as if the payment had been completed. In Stripe, the same transaction appears as declined or failed, so the two systems do not match.
What seems to happen:
The module sends the order information to Stripe as soon as the customer places the order. Stripe processes the payment and declines it, but the store still creates the order and does not mark it as failed or unpaid.
Expected behaviour:
- If the payment is declined or fails, no order should be created as paid or "New". The customer should see the error and be able to try again or use another payment method.
- Alternatively, the order should be saved with a clear status such as "Payment failed" or "Pending payment", so it is not treated as a valid order.
- An order should only be created or confirmed after Stripe confirms a successful payment.
Why this matters:
I risk preparing and shipping orders that were never paid, and it is very hard to reconcile my store orders with my Stripe dashboard.
Could you please look into this and let me know:
1. Whether this is a known issue and if there is a fix or updated version.
2. If it is a configuration issue, which setting I should change (for example webhook settings or order status mapping).
3. Whether you need logs or access to my site to investigate. I'm happy to send logs or screenshots.
This is urgent for me, as it affects live orders. I would appreciate a reply as soon as possible.
Thank you for your help.
Kind regards,
Yorgos
