J2Commerce 4.1.10

Trashing a product caused both shop pages on my website to crash - when published or unpublished, there was no issue. Crash only applied to J2Commerce v4 » Products List View menu types as far as I could tell - may apply to others but none were present to check - Joomla Category Blog pages were unaffected.

I was able to resolve this by selecting No for Treat as a Product then traashing.

On my site I was only making a test article (now fully deleted) and was able to fix this, but it could cause outages on other people's websites.

Is this a known bug and will this be upgraded for the pre-Joomla-6 version of the software? i can provide credentials if this would be useful.

Hello Tim,

thank you for reporting this.

I have tried reproducing this on several test systems and was unable to get it to fail:

  • created a duplicate of a product
  • made sure it shows in the product list view
  • deleted the product
  • removed from the list view

There may be something else leading to the page break on your site.

For instance, it could be a module that displays products and the module would be failing and not the actual view.

Could you add your credentials and also tell me which page(s) were breaking on the site? Thanks!

Olivier.

Hi Olivier,

Thanks for looking into this, I've now added the credentials to the ticket.

The issue was happening on the shop page when there was a product in the relevant categories (may have been on the craft workshops page too but I'm not certain). Non J2Commerce/J2Store pages weren't affected.

Thanks Tim,

I have done some testing on your site but was not able to get a crash. As I don't want to mess up with your site, I will keep it at that for now.

Let us know if that happens again. If it does, put your site in debug mode, refresh the broken page and copy the error you see. Then report to us. Thank you!

I took the liberty to fix an override that was not updated and was vulnerable.

Olivier.
