Environment
- plg_j2commerce_app_arsdlid 6.2.0 (updated from 6.1.3)
- J2Commerce 6.6.3, Akeeba Release System 7.5.0
- Joomla 6.1.3, PHP 8.5, MariaDB
- app_subscriptionproduct is not installed, by design: we run our own custom licensing/subscription system (custom J2Commerce app plugin + custom component handling license terms, renewals, seats and ARS access groups). The store sells only simple products, and app_arsdlid is used solely to issue the customer's primary ARS Download ID on purchase. We have no plan to install app_subscriptionproduct, so this is a permanent configuration, not a transitional one.

Description
Since 6.2.0, every time a logged-in customer opens the MyProfile page, the plugin writes an ERROR entry to administrator/logs/app_arsdlid.php, even with the Debug option turned off:

2026-09-21T07:09:23+00:00 ERROR <ip> app_arsdlid onMyProfileTabContent licenses failed: Table '<db>.<prefix>_j2commerce_subscriptions' doesn't exist

There is no functional impact. The exception is caught, $licenses falls back to [] and the primary Download ID is displayed correctly. But the log file grows by one ERROR line per profile view, and it buries real errors.

Expected behaviour
Stores that use app_arsdlid only for the primary Download ID, and manage licenses/subscriptions with their own system instead of app_subscriptionproduct, should get no log entries (and no queries against #__j2commerce_subscriptions) from the new license feature.
More generally, the 6.2.0 license-code feature should be fully inert when app_subscriptionproduct is absent. For such stores the primary Download ID remains the single source of truth, and it must never be touched by the license sync.

Suggested fix
Short-circuit the license features when the subscriptions table or app is absent.

Fred

Fred,

You are 100% right and a major oversight on my end. I was focused on the subscriptions/ARS features, I never stopped to think about the use cases where it's not tied to the subscriptions plugin. I am working on the fix now and should have the update available later today.

Fred,

Updated release should resolve that issue for you now.
