Everybody will be able to see its contents. Do not include usernames, passwords or any other sensitive information.
I want to setup a new store for a client that has almost 2.000 products. He export an Excel file from his ERP program and I want to import all these products into j2commerce.
I want to import SKU's, Categories/Subcategories, Descriptions, Prices, Stock and Images.
Is that possible?
I don't want to manually import 2.000+ products.
We have a new app coming out next week that is built for larger shops that use EDI systems and need the proper formats for importing and exporting order, products, users, etc... I will update this ticket when it's released, but it will come with pre-made import templates that will allow you to map the fields from your spreadsheets to the proper fields in J2C and allow you to migrate everything you need without too much hassle.

Can I work with the previous version so I can add some products?
The extensions for J2Store v4 cannot work with J2Commerce v6. It is a totally different architecture.
However, we are about to launch an app that can help you import products (there is an import wizard where you pick what information you want to import - at the end of the wizard it gives you a sample csv file that you can use to add your information).
We are not done with testing but I can send it to you tomorrow to try out.

I have tested the plugin for import/export and it is quite extensive.
I have only tested the creation of a sample CSV file and a the use of the CSV file with data. That seems to work properly.
First step: click on 'Import your store'. That wizard will take you through the creation of the CSV test file.
Once done, go to 'Import Templates' (in the quick links of the dashboard).
Enter a template (don't click on the 'Run Import', it seems not to work).
Go to the 'import' tab, enter your file containing data, run a preview and if all goes well, run the live import.
Find the plugin attached. Unzip it first then install the zipped file that is included. Then you can find it in the list of your J2Commerce apps as 'EDI Orders'.

I thoroughly tested the application and found it excellent. I successfully imported manufacturers, products (including prices and photos), and categories. It also detected duplicate entries based on the product code.
I have just two observations:
1. I had to search through the logs to find a product that failed to import due to a duplicate code.
2. I exported the template file using comma separated, but since I use the comma as the decimal separator for prices, the values didn't import correctly (e.g., 7,83); I had to change the currency separator setting before importing the prices.

Another suggestion/bug (maybe)
I'm trying to replace only the images but the Import template can't override the existing images and fails to import the new images.
I also have tried to Import and replace the products through the Import products template but again it doesn't override the products and the images, although I have checked to Overwrite Existing Product IDs.
