#597 J6 timing, spread sheet, and pricing levels

Hi Adam and Olivier
I've got a store I'm quoting on and of course I want to use J2Comm. Client currently has a an oddly built J4 Hika store shop. He isn't satisfied with it and after review a fresh build is the way forward. 
How close is J2Comm on Joomla 6? 
Client wants to use spreadsheet management (top of his request list). While reviewing the docs I saw that was possible. Do all the details have to be in place then later they can be edited by CSV or can we load the basics and add extra details via CSV to the item? He mentioned how tedious and I said yes - attention to detail can be tedious but also ensures accuracy. How easy can we make this?
Store sells tools for students. The public pricing is at one level then there are two registered client levels that have discounts at a predetermined percentage discount. Of course sales and promos but just wanted to confirm this is possible. I'm sure it must be but didn't notice it during my reading.

Great questions and yes to all the questions not related to J6.  We are still in the process of building the native Joomla 6 version, but Olivier is working on getting the current version working on Joomla 6 with J5/J6 backwards compatibility plugins enabled in the meantime.

 

As far as the different pricing levels, assuming they are different user groups, they can be assigned different price levels based on their Joomla User Group (out of the box)...

In the meantime, if you had to start on the project, you could always start at Joomla 5 and when the Joomla 6 version of J2 (v4.x) is available, you could migrate it to 6 at that point. I am hopeful that this will be ready before the new year.

Yes the pricing levels will be different user groups and great news.

I didn't see in your reply about the CSV situation. 

Migration to J6 - hoped to start there as I'm in migration fatigue but will soldier on.

Sorry I somehow missed this ticket in the tickets list. Yes, products can be loaded and managed via spreadsheets if needed. There is the simple csv import app that we have here as well as the more robust ROCSVI component from Roland that gives even more options. I have loaded over 50k+ products on a client store using spreadsheets so whatever your client needs, J2 can handle it when it comes to that.
