It seems like PayPal functionality is built into the main extension. Is that correct? Do I have the ability to charge specific US state sales tax? I am located in Rhode Island and need to charge 7% sales tax on sales made to customers in Rhode Island (I am unlikely to reach the thresholds required to charge sales tax to residents in other states).

Thanks for reaching out. Yes PayPal is included with the core download and you do have the ability to charge specific sales tax based on the region/state. If your site grows to a point where you need to start looking at establishing annex in other states based on your out-of-state projections, then Avalara Tax can help calculate the taxes automatically down to the city/county level taxes if needed :)
