Hello,

I'm working on a new project where I've been given an API to build a store that will sync and automatically update product stock levels based on the main store's inventory.

Is this possible to achieve within J2Commerce?

Is there an existing plugin I could use to set up this kind of connection, or is it something that simply isn't supported?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Yorgos

Hello again,

Following up on my previous email — I think I didn't explain my situation clearly enough, so let me give you more details.

I have been given access to an external API by another company, which contains their full product catalog: product names, photos, specifications, stock levels, prices, SKUs, etc.

What I need to do is load all of this data (names, images, specifications, stock, prices, SKUs, etc.) into my J2Commerce store so that these products appear and are managed on my site, staying in sync with the source.

Can this be done through J2Commerce? And if so, what exactly would I need in order to make it happen (specific tools, plugins, endpoints, or anything else)? If it's not possible, please let me know that as well.

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

Georgios,

API's a unique to each destination (usually with multiple enpoints and are essentially language "translators" between two different systems. Having API endpoints for both ends should make things much easier to move the information back and forth between systems, however there still needs to be a connector that is able to "translate" the API from your client into a format that the J2Commerce site understands and if they want order statuses and other items updated in their system, then the connector would need to "translate" the API from J2Commerce to your client's system.

So if you have both "translators" then you need a "connector" that can get them talking and doing what you wish them to do. We can help you with a custom plugin that can do that  -we have done this for many other larger ecommerce projects and would be happy to discuss this more in detail if you or your client are interested in exploring this further.
