Great to see a beta of what is, in my opinion, the best e-commerce solution for Joomla – the brand new J2Commerce 6.
I pulled it down right away and installed it locally on a MAMP stack out of curiosity. It already looks really clean and promising.
Just one question for now:
Do you have a plan or any thoughts on migrating data from J2Commerce 4 Pro to the new J2Commerce 6 Pro?

thank you very much for your kind words! We are very excited with this new version of J2Commerce, and we have lots in store :-)
To answer your question: YES, we are working on a migration tool that can move an older site to J2Commerce v6, all the way back from J2Store 3 (J2Commerce v4 included).
It was working as a plugin (Adam has already moved client sites thanks to that plugin) but we are now in the process of making it a standalone extension with the idea that it would be complemented over time with other plugins so that you would be able to migrate from other ecommerce platforms. So a very powerful tool in the works indeed.

That sounds really promising — and very good to hear that the migration path is already working in practice.
A standalone migration extension makes a lot of sense, especially if it can later be extended for other platforms as well.
I’ll keep following J2Commerce 6 closely and continue testing locally for now.
