I see a lot of conflicting information and varying procedures in your documentation. What is the correct way to migrate a Joomla 3 site running J2Store v3 (3.3.22 Pro) to Joomla 6 running J2Commerce v6 (6.6.2)?

If possible this needs to preserve all products, categories, options, past orders, existing customers, countries, zones, measurements (lengths/weights), order statuses, email templates, configuration settings, custom fields, standard shipping methods, reporting, etc.

Is this actually necessary nowadays?

Joomla 3 + J2Store 3→ Joomla 3 + J2Store 4.0.5 → Joomla 3 + J2Store 4.0.22 → Joomla 5 + J2Commerce 4.0.22→ Joomla 6 + J2Commerce 4.0.22 → Joomla 6 + J2Commerce 6.6.2

Or is it true that a direct J2Store 3 → J2Commerce 6 migration tool is currently under development, and if so, what would be the recommended approach?

Thank in advance and kind regards,
Joris

Joris,

We are in the final testing phases of the J2Store3 to J2Commerce 6 migration tool (which would also allow you to migrate all the core tables over from one site's database to another. We are hoping it will be ready by tomorrow as we know there are a lot of people who need to finally migrate off their Joomla 3 sites for security and other reasons.
