Hello,

I'm selling my products both online using J2 Commerce, but also from a physical shop.

Is there any plugin/add-on I can use when selling from the physical shop which would make it easy for the shop owner to record the transactions ? At the moment, it's really painful that he has to go through the whole process everytime he needs to sell an item. Ideally, I would love a module that I can run like on a tablet in order to use the touchscreen, just select the items the customer is buyng, payment method and go.

Alternatively, is there some kind of API I could use with J2 Commerce so that I could build my own app and have the transactions registered in J2 Commerce so that my stock is updated and the transactions from the shop are visible in J2 Commerce ?

Thanks

Stephane,

I did build out a tablet interface for a client years back that would allow them to bypass the usual checkout process (address/email, etc) but I am sure I would have to rebuild it all over again to work with J5+.  We are working on a J2Commerce Api for the upcoming Joomla 6 version, but unfortunately neither of those are available at the moment. If you are familiar with layout overrides, I could walk you through the process of building out your own override for the products (big squares easy to click) as well as the process for streamlining the checkout...

Hello,

Sorry to reply so late but I'm coming back on this.

I'm not very familiar with layout overrides but had a look at it and it doesn't seem very complicated.

In a first step, what would be really useful is indeed to have a way, for one specific user, to bypass the whole checkout process (so add all products to the basket, and for this user have a simple "paid" button that would immediately close the transaction). This bypass would also need to bypass the whole email sending processes.

Even better would be if this user could have a dropdown in order to assign the order to an existing customer (typically, and existing customer comes to the counter, buy some products, I want to add the order to this customer's account). In this situation, only one email should go out, the invoice to the customer.

Do you think this would be feasible ?

I'm not an expert bu can code in PHP if this helps. I have no issue coding a small script to achieve this.

Thanks

Stephane,

If you can list out the user journey and store owner journey in bulletpoint lists in here, I can go through and see what items (if any) we may need to adjust to make work, and then I imagine a single app should be able to tie all of it together.

Hello,

What I'm looking for is pretty easy. After adding products to my basket, if I go on the basket, for some specific users (which I could define in J2Commerce config), instead of having the "Proceed to order" button, I would simply have the option to directly mark the order as paid (with the different payment methods available, typically cash or card).

And ideally, I would there also have a way to assign this order to an existing customer (so typically, a customer who already has an account on my website and is coming to buy something in the plysical shop, I want to be able to assign this purchase to his account so he has a view on all his orders being from the website or physically).

I just want to streamline the process for the person working at the shop as they don't have the time to go through the whole processing each time, and unfortunately, the order creation from the backend is really not straightforward, with a lot of steps to go through, which is not something you want on each purchase when working in a physical shop.

Thanks
