Hello Oliver,

I purchased the Advanced Cart. I’m trying to configure it, but I’m having some issues.

Once installed, if I try to create the module, I can’t assign it to the j2c-checkout-sidebar position because that position does not exist in my template and I can’t find it anywhere.

I’m also not sure whether I should connect the module to the standard checkout or to Easy Checkout.

Could you please check where I’m going wrong?

Another question: today I’m starting the real tests.

Once an order is placed, I can generate the shipping label, print it, apply it to the package and request pickup from the courier.

Later, the courier will provide me with the tracking number. If I enter it in the order page, what happens? Will the system automatically send an email with the tracking information to the customer?

Do you have a guide on how to generate multiple emails to the customer based on the order status and all the actions performed on the order?

Hello Oliver,

I found a few bugs:

When I enter an address, if I select Italy as the country, the next dropdown shows U.S. states instead of Italian provinces/regions. Because of this, customers cannot register correctly.

Another issue concerns shipping: when I try to place an order, the system does not calculate the DHL shipping costs, so I cannot properly test the checkout and shipping process.

Could you please check these issues?

Hello Marco,

the position won't exist in your template but you can edit the position manually. You won't find it in the selection, but it does exist. Juast type it.

Advanced Cart handles the cart, so you could choose any checkout method you want to use.

 

For your other question about orders. You can add the tracking number to the order, save then on the top right corner, select resend email.

Make sure your email template includes the shipping tracking id.

Payment plugins set the order status and trigger the email that is being sent. I don't think we have a specifc guide for that.

 

For the country selection: go to setup -> custom fields and check the country field to make sure the default is Italy.

If you use Easy Checkout, make sure you update to the latest version, it actually deals with these shipping not being updated issues.

Hello Marco,

I noticed an issue in the scripts of the advanced cart system plugin and I issued a fix.

Otherwise, you were almost there.

Now on the ecommerce page:

  • there is a shopping cart icon in the navbar (just tried that position, you can put it somewhere else)
  • Wen clients add a product to cart or clieck on the shopping cart icon, the sidebar opens

That should give you a good starting point.

Thank you. I don't understand how to enable or disable the shopping cart in the sidebar. Where do I configure it? I tried checking the active modules but couldn't find the one I'm looking for. Thank you.

Most of the fuctionality settings are in the system plugin 'Advanced Cart'. The 'look' settings are in the modules.
