Protection from Cold is a customer-selectable accessorial — buyers who need it tick it and get the correct rate. Residential delivery mode is set to "Customer Selects." Commercial buyers ignore it. Residential buyers tick it. The storewide quote cache means repeat buyers in the same region get instant checkout without hitting the API again.

Customers ship to convention centers, event venues, and limited-access buildings. They need appointment delivery and tradeshow handling on every order — without these, carriers arrive unannounced and freight gets refused. Tradeshow Delivery and Appointment Delivery are customer-selectable accessorials at checkout. The rate includes the surcharges. The carrier arrives on schedule.
