One Integration. Every Finnish Payment. Done.
Finnish shoppers don't pay with cards. They pay with their bank. Give them the button they expect — or watch them leave.
Everything Your Finnish Checkout Needs
Bank buttons, wallets, and BNPL — handled. Idempotent confirmation, cryptographic validation, and automatic rounding reconciliation built in. No per-bank integrations. No custom code.
Full Provider Grid
Every Finnish bank button, mobile wallet, and BNPL provider Paytrail supports — displayed in a clean, organized grid at checkout. When Paytrail adds a new provider, your checkout gets it automatically.
Cryptographic Validation
Every return from a Finnish bank is verified with a cryptographic signature before your order moves. Tampered returns, spoofed confirmations, replay attempts — all rejected before a single order status changes.
Dual-Path Confirmation
Browser return and server-to-server callback both confirm the payment. If the customer closes the tab after paying, the background callback finalizes the order anyway. Zero dropped orders from browser timeouts.
Idempotency Guard
Browser return and server callback fire simultaneously. The idempotency guard ensures only one finalizes the order — the second one sees it already closed and walks away. One payment, one confirmed order. Every time.
Reference & Amount Verification
The gateway echoes back the order ID and payment amount. If either is off by even a cent, the transaction is rejected. No fraudulent confirmations slip through on amount mismatches.
Automatic Rounding Reconciliation
Paytrail requires item totals to match the order total to the cent. Tax, shipping, and discount math produces fractional differences. The plugin detects and corrects these silently — payments never fail on arithmetic.
Geozone Restriction
Show Paytrail only to Finnish or EU shoppers. Customers outside your configured geozone see your other payment methods — Paytrail stays invisible to customers it doesn't serve.
Optional Surcharge
Set a percentage surcharge, a fixed fee, or both. The labeled charge is calculated before order completion — transparent to the customer and correctly reconciled against the gateway total.
Full Admin Control
Map success and failure to any J2Commerce order status. Link paid orders to any Joomla article. Set the provider page language. Add custom intro text above payment buttons. Toggle debug logging during setup.
Zero Dropped Orders. Even When the Browser Doesn't Come Back.
Most hosted payment integrations have a silent failure mode: customer pays, browser redirect dies, order never closes. You have a paid customer and an open order, and you find out when they email you three days later. Paytrail for J2Commerce eliminates this with two independent confirmation paths running simultaneously.
- Browser return processes the confirmation when the customer comes back
- Server-to-server callback fires in the background regardless of browser behavior
- Idempotency guard ensures whichever arrives first wins — the second one exits cleanly
- Order history records the payment with provider name and transaction reference
The Gatekeeper Never Sleeps.
Every return from a Finnish bank arrives with a signed fingerprint. Paytrail for J2Commerce verifies that fingerprint before it does anything else. Wrong signature? Order fails and logs the attempt. Right signature but wrong amount? Same result. The verification runs on every confirmation path — browser and callback — because security isn't a feature you turn on when you feel like it.
- Cryptographic HMAC signature verified on every return and callback
- Order reference matched against the expected value — no replay attacks
- Payment amount verified to the cent before order finalization
- Failed verifications update the order to your configured failure status and log the reason
Real-World Use Cases
They added Paytrail. OP, Nordea, S-Pankki, and the rest of the Finnish bank buttons appeared in checkout. Finnish customers saw their bank's logo, clicked it, paid in seconds. Bank button payments outnumbered card payments four to one within the first month.
Same prices. Same products. Same layout. The checkout now let Finnish customers pay the way they actually pay. That was the entire change.
They configured Paytrail with a geozone restricted to Finland. Finnish customers see the full provider grid. German customers see their appropriate payment options. Swedish and Norwegian customers get directed to their configured alternatives.
Clean segmentation. No custom template work. No manual condition logic. The geozone field handled it in about thirty seconds of configuration.
They depend on the server-to-server callback. Every successful payment, whether or not the customer's browser makes a clean return, triggers a background confirmation that finalizes the order and kicks off the delivery process. The download link lands in the customer's inbox within seconds of payment completion.
Eight months running the plugin. Zero cases of a paid customer who didn't receive their download due to a missed confirmation.
Finnish Customers Are at Your Checkout Right Now.
They're looking for their bank's button. Give it to them, or give your competitor the sale. Simple math.
