France's Gateway. Your Store. Zero Card Drama.

French shoppers trust Paybox. This plugin makes sure your Joomla ecommerce checkout gives them exactly what they expect — on a page they recognize, in their language, with security that doesn't mess around.

Every Security Layer. Every Currency. Every Language.

Twenty features built from the ground up to serve French and EU ecommerce — including things most gateway plugins skip entirely.

Hosted Redirect — SAQ-A PCI

Buyers pay on Paybox's own secure page. Card data never touches your server. Your PCI obligation shrinks to the shortest self-assessment form in the standard.

HMAC-Signed Payment Requests

Every payment request is cryptographically signed before it leaves your store. Alter a single field in transit and the gateway rejects it. No silent tampering. No amount tricks.

RSA-Verified Confirmations

Payment confirmations are verified against Paybox's own public key before your store acts on them. Forged callbacks get a 400 and nothing else. Real payments get processed.

Amount Integrity Check

The amount Paybox says was paid must match your order total to the cent. Nobody pays a euro for a hundred-euro order and walks away with a confirmation.

15 Currencies, Correctly Charged

EUR, GBP, CHF, SEK, PLN, CZK, and nine more. Your store's active display currency maps to the correct code — every cross-border buyer pays in the right currency at the right amount.

8 Payment-Page Languages

French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Swedish, Portuguese. Your buyer sees the Paybox checkout page in their own language. The language barrier is not their problem to solve.

Configurable Order Statuses

Map confirmed, pending, and failed outcomes to your own order workflow statuses. Every transition triggers the right history entry and email notification through J2Commerce's standard order engine.

Geozone & Subtotal Restrictions

Show Paybox only to customers in specific regions. Set order value minimums and maximums. Reserve it for the buyers and the cart sizes where it makes sense for your business.

Idempotent Finalization

Paybox may retry its confirmation callback. The order finalizes exactly once regardless of how many retries arrive. Atomic database-level claim prevents duplicate processing — even under concurrent load.

Three Layers of Security. Not One.

Most hosted redirect integrations verify that a callback arrived. This one verifies that the request was signed correctly going out, that the confirmation is cryptographically authentic coming back, and that the amount matches the order total — three independent checks before anything is marked paid.

  • HMAC-signed payment request — tamper-proof in transit
  • RSA-verified confirmation — Paybox's own digital signature
  • Amount integrity check — paid amount must match order total to the cent

Fifteen Currencies. Eight Languages. One Checkout.

French, Belgian, Swiss, Swedish, Polish — every buyer who lands on your Joomla ecommerce store sees a payment page in their language, charged in their currency. Correctly. Without rounding errors, without currency mismatch, without a question mark about what they'll actually be billed.

  • EUR, GBP, CHF, SEK, PLN, CZK, DKK, NOK, HUF, RON, BGN, CAD, AUD, JPY, USD
  • French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch, Swedish, Portuguese, English
  • Display currency mapped automatically — no manual configuration per currency

The Order Is Never in Limbo

Before a buyer leaves for the gateway, the order is in your "pending" status. When Paybox confirms payment, it moves to your "confirmed" status. If payment fails, it lands on "failed." Customer notes are saved before the redirect. Nothing gets lost between your store and the gateway and back again.

  • Pending status set before redirect — no ambiguous order states
  • Customer notes saved server-side before the buyer leaves your page
  • Confirmed and failed transitions fire standard J2Commerce order events and emails

Real-World Use Cases

A French artisan food producer sells directly to French consumers. Their buyers are trust-conscious and familiar with Paybox from every major French retailer they've visited online. The store enables Paybox as the primary method, sets the payment page to French, and watches checkout abandonment drop. Confirmation arrives server-to-server. The order goes confirmed. The email goes out. The store owner never touches a card number. They just look at the orders coming in.

A Belgian importer sells home goods across France, Belgium, Spain, and the Netherlands. Paybox is configured with French, Spanish, and Dutch payment page languages. Geozone restrictions surface it only to EU buyers. All fifteen currencies are active, so Swiss visitors are charged in CHF. Orders arrive with the correct currency, correct status, and full billing data forwarded to the gateway — which keeps fraud rates down and disputes cleaner.

A European industrial parts supplier takes orders ranging from a €15 spare part to a €25,000 equipment kit. A max subtotal limit on Paybox keeps it for card-size purchases up to €2,000. Larger orders route to the bank transfer method automatically. No buyer sees a payment method that doesn't apply to their cart. The ordering experience stays clean and the store owner manages risk without building custom logic.

An agency migrating a French ecommerce client to Joomla enables sandbox mode and uses the notify URL override to point the server-to-server callback at a tunnel URL. All gateway flows — confirmed, cancelled, rejected — are tested against Paybox's pre-production environment without touching real transactions. Go-live is a single toggle and a credential swap. What was tested is exactly what ships.

French Shoppers Are Waiting. Give Them Their Gateway.

Every French customer who bounced from your checkout because Paybox wasn't there was a real sale. Add it once and stop losing those sales. Seriously.
