Your Card Machine Is Already There. Your Webshop Wasn't.

140,000 UK businesses run Dojo. Most of their websites send customers somewhere else entirely. This plugin fixes that — connecting your J2Commerce checkout to the Dojo account you already have.

Everything a UK Merchant Actually Needs

One plugin connects your J2Commerce store to your existing Dojo merchant account. Same settlement. Same dashboard. No second processor.

Hosted Checkout

Customers pay on Dojo's secure page. Card data never enters your server. You qualify for PCI SAQ-A — the shortest self-assessment, reserved for merchants who don't handle card data at all.

3DS2 / SCA Compliance

Strong Customer Authentication is handled entirely by Dojo's certified infrastructure. PSD2 compliance is not your problem. It never touches your store.

Sale & Authorize Capture

Capture funds immediately on checkout (Sale mode), or hold them on the card and capture manually when you're ready (Authorize mode). Each mode has its own configurable order status.

3-Layer Return Verification

Every payment return is verified three ways — API status, reference match, and amount to the penny — before any order status changes. Tampered return-URL attacks go nowhere.

Dual Sandbox / Live Keys

Sandbox and live API keys live in completely separate, password-obscured fields. Flip one toggle to switch modes — live credentials stay untouched during testing.

GBP Enforcement

Dojo processes GBP only. The plugin hides itself automatically on any non-GBP cart — your customers only see Dojo when it will actually work.

Geozone Restriction

Show Dojo only to UK buyers, a specific region, or any geographic zone you define. International customers see their appropriate payment options. The right gateway, for the right buyer.

Subtotal Gating

Set a minimum or maximum order subtotal for Dojo to appear. Skip it on small top-ups. Cap it for oversized orders. Match your Dojo agreement exactly.

Debug Logging

Flip a switch and every Dojo interaction writes a timestamped structured log entry. Your API key is never written to the log. Turn it off for production.

Two Capture Modes. One Merchant Account.

Sale mode captures funds immediately — same as your Dojo card machine. Order confirmed, next-day settlement. Authorize mode holds funds on the customer's card without capturing. The order lands in a distinct status so your team knows it's authorized and pending capture. You capture manually, on your timeline.

  • Restaurants pre-authorizing covers at booking
  • Salons holding appointment deposits online
  • Retailers managing pre-orders before stock arrives
  • Each mode routes to its own configurable order status

Security That Doesn't Cut Corners.

Basic payment plugins trust the URL parameters a customer returns with. This plugin doesn't. Every return is cross-checked against Dojo's API directly — three independent verifications before a single order status changes.

  • API confirms the payment status directly from Dojo
  • Payment reference must match your order ID exactly
  • Captured amount verified against order total within one penny
  • All three layers must pass — or the order fails cleanly

One Dashboard. Your Whole Business.

Your Dojo card machines are already settled next-day into your merchant account. Your Joomla webshop should be too — not on a separate processor with separate statements, separate settlement timelines, and separate reconciliation work every month.

  • Online payments settle alongside your in-person takings
  • One reconciliation. One monthly statement.
  • Same negotiated rates for online as in-store
  • No second processor account to manage or monitor

Real-World Use Cases

A Manchester casual-dining group with twelve sites runs Dojo card machines across every restaurant — all settled next-day through one merchant account. They launch a Joomla ecommerce store to sell gift cards and event tickets online. Rather than sign up with a second processor, they connect J2Commerce to their existing Dojo account. Online payments settle alongside the restaurant takings. Their finance team runs one reconciliation against one dashboard. The second payment processor statement that nobody wanted to deal with simply stops arriving.

A six-location nail salon in Birmingham uses Dojo for all in-salon card payments. They add a J2Commerce online store selling their branded nail polish and skincare range. Authorize mode lets them hold deposits on click-and-collect orders — the customer's card is authorized at checkout, the item is reserved, and the capture happens at the point of collection when the salon confirms the order. The webshop and the terminal run through the same Dojo merchant account, settled together. No second processor. No second payment login.

A pub group with venues across East London has Dojo card machines at every bar. They start selling live music event tickets through their J2Commerce store. Authorize mode is ideal — customers book online, the card hold is visible in the Dojo dashboard alongside bar takings, and the capture happens on the night. Authorized holds for upcoming events and completed captures for past nights live in the same dashboard as their bar revenue. One merchant account. The whole business.

A Bristol homeware boutique runs Dojo in-store. They launch a J2Commerce click-and-collect webshop to reduce queuing during peak periods. Sale mode — customer pays online, order confirmed, item reserved, customer collects. Online settlement lands next-day alongside the in-store Dojo takings. Their accountant runs one reconciliation against one dashboard. The question "which pot did the online payment go into?" stops being asked.

Your Card Machine Is Settled. Your Website Should Be Too.

Connect your Joomla store to the Dojo account you already trust — same acquirer, same settlement, one dashboard for your whole UK business. Yeah. It's that straightforward.
