Move your J2Store 4 or J2Commerce 4 store to J2Commerce 6

The migrator moves your products, orders, customers, addresses, coupons, taxes and images to J2Commerce 6, then checks every table and gives you a verification report.

J2Store 4 and J2Commerce 4 Support Included

If your store runs on J2Store 4 or J2Commerce 4, the adapter for it ships in the same package as the migrator.

Products, variants, orders, order items, customers, addresses, coupons, vouchers, taxes, geozones, shipping methods, payment methods, custom fields, downloads and subscriptions (with the Subscriptions And Memberships app installed) each have a mapped path into the new store.

The source-to-destination map is the hardest part of any migration, and the migrator does that mapping for you.

  • You don't write column mappings
  • You don't translate primary keys
  • You don't try to figure out where variant options live in the new schema
  • The adapter handles all of it. You watch the dashboard turn green.

Migration in Stages, Row by Row

Data moves in stages that depend on each other, and one problem row is logged without stopping the rest.

Verification After Every Run

After each run, the verification report compares source and destination row counts so you can confirm everything moved.

  • All

Catalog, orders, customers, images, menus and templates in one tool

  • In Box

    J2Store 4 / J2Commerce 4 adapter included

  • Every Run

    Ends with a verification report

Moving a Store Is a Big Job

Your catalog, years of orders, customers, addresses, saved carts and discount codes all live in the old store, and all of it has to arrive in the new one.

The longer you wait, the more data there is to move. The migrator handles the mapping so the move does not depend on hand-written scripts.

What the Migrator Does

A migration engine that knows where each table goes, so you do not map fields by hand.

  • One-Click Dashboard

Open the component, see every tier and press Start. A progress badge shows each tier as it runs, with no console commands needed.

  • Tier-Based Engine

Catalog, customers, orders, images, menus and templates run in order, each finishing before the next starts. A bad row is logged without stopping the run.

  • Pre-Flight Analyzer

Before any row moves, the analyzer scans your source database and reports what will move, what is risky and what needs your attention.

  • ID Mapping That Doesn't Break References

Source ID 4827 can become destination ID 12. The map is stored, so orders still reference the right products and customers keep the right addresses.

  • Image Migration

Every product image is found, copied and re-linked, so your product photos stay attached to the right product.

  • Menu Migration

Joomla menu items that pointed at old store views are rewritten to point at the new ones, so your store URLs keep working.

  • CSS & Template Migrator

Custom CSS and custom templates from the old store are translated and ported across.

  • Akeeba Backup Before Every Run

Turn on one setting and the migrator asks Akeeba Backup to take a fresh backup before it touches a row.

  • Verification Report

The report compares source and destination counts for every entity, such as products and orders, on one screen.

  • Row-Level Error Log

Anything that did not import is listed with its source row, destination row and error message.

  • Runs History

Every migration run is logged, so you can re-run, audit and compare runs.

  • CLI Commands For Massive Stores

For large catalogs, run the migration from the command line instead of the browser to avoid timeouts.

Install the Migrator and Press Start

Install the migrator, point it at your old database and press Start. The verification report shows what moved.

  • One-Click Dashboard
  • Pre-Flight Analyzer
  • Menu Migration

Use Cases

The Large Catalog Owner Who Kept Putting It Off

A lighting and home decor importer with thousands of products, tens of thousands of variant combinations, years of orders and gigabytes of product photography has tried manual export and import twice. With the migrator, the pre-flight analyzer runs first, the tiers then move the catalog, orders, customers and images in order, and the verification report compares the counts against the source when the run finishes.

A Coffee Subscription Store Moving to J2Commerce 6

A coffee subscription store running J2Commerce 4 with the Subscriptions And Memberships app installs the app on J2Commerce 6, maps each payment method, and uses the Migrate Subscriptions tool so active subscriptions keep their next payment dates.

The B2B Wholesaler With 1,200 Per-Customer Pricing Accounts

An industrial parts distributor with 1,200 wholesale accounts, each on a customer-group pricing tier, sets conflict mode to "preserve existing" and migrates customer groups first, then customer-to-group assignments, then group-specific prices. The verification report then compares the counts against the source.

The Store With Three Years Of Custom CSS And A Custom Template

A gift shop with a custom template and hundreds of lines of custom CSS runs the CSS migrator to translate class names, the template migrator to port the layout and the sub-template migrator for per-product overrides, then checks the result on staging.
